Starburst Theatre Academy (STA) is a musical theatre academy running at Starburst Studios in Yateley, launched from our award-winning theatre company that has staged pantomimes and musicals since 1991.
We produce the Fleet Panto annually, performing to approximately 6,000 patrons across 34 shows. Our multi-award-winning company is dedicated to perfecting the art of true stage performance.
We develop local children's skills in Musical Theatre through Dance, Singing, and Acting over three structured terms, culminating in an end-of-year performance for family and friends.
STA is for all children, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds, offering a platform to escape into a world of creativity and fun. We pride ourselves on the family we create, developing transferable life skills and fostering a can-do attitude.

Frequently Asked Questions
No experience is needed! We welcome children of all abilities. Our trained teachers tailor activities to each child's level, helping complete beginners feel confident from day one.
Comfortable clothes they can move in - leggings/joggers and a t-shirt are perfect. We recommend bare feet or ballet shoes for dance, and they'll need a water bottle.
Unfortuantely not - we encourage children to be independent during classes, but you're welcome at our showcase performances!
Many of our most confident performers started out shy! Our teachers are experienced in gently encouraging participation at each child's pace. The supportive group environment helps children come out of their shell naturally.
Yes, absolutely. All our teachers and volunteers are DBS checked and trained in safeguarding. We take child safety extremely seriously and follow comprehensive safeguarding policies.
Fees cover all three hours of tuition each Saturday across singing, dancing, and acting. This includes all materials, costume hire for the showcase, and the end-of-year performance.
Yes! Children can join at any point during the term. We'll pro-rata the fees for the remaining sessions and help them settle in quickly with our welcoming group.
