Formerly Yateley National School - a building at the heart of the community since 1704
Yateley Village Hall stands on the east edge of Yateley Green - a building whose story stretches back over three centuries. Originally a parish school founded through the generosity of a local benefactor, it served as the sole place of education in Yateley for generations before being lovingly converted into the Village Hall we know today.

During the 1984 renovation, workers discovered that every brick in the building had been laid upside down, with the frog (the indentation on one side of a brick) left empty rather than filled with mortar. This unusual technique saved both mortar and money, and strongly suggests the building was constructed by local volunteers rather than professional bricklayers. Remarkably, despite this unconventional construction, the building remained structurally sound after 120 years of continual use!
